Garden Project – 1994- 2006
Presently, one of the most effective developmental projects is our GARDEN PROJECT.
The Garden Project provides $130 US to Haitian Christians who plant, tend and harvest a food garden. One-half of the profit from the garden belongs to the gardener and the other half goes to the Haitian church. This money is used to help pay some of the salary for the teachers who labor to educate the children,
The Garden Project has brought hope and pride to the gardeners who now considered themselves useful and productive and who are helping in the construction of a much needed church/school. This is economic development on a micro scale…but it works.
Our Haitian sisters and brothers are pleading for more gardens. They are willing to work hard to provide for themselves. Their enthusiasm is heart-warming and encouraging.
Livestock Project
We had 71 animals in our program at one time, but some were lost in several hurricanes. We started with only a couple of animals, and through the diligence and hard work of many, this project has grown successfully.
Donations are needed to purchase livestock for breeding (pigs, young cows). This livestock project will compliment the garden project.
