Solar cooking is important in that it saves the trees that are cut down to make charcoal. This causes deforestation and soil erosion which is devastating to the environment and the agriculture of a nation.

It is good for the children in the schools to learn how food is cooked with the sun. They will grow up seeing and tasting the good food that is cooked for them with solar, and they will develop an appreciation for the technology.

Their parents will realize a major savings in that they will not have to spend a major portion of their earnings on charcoal and other fuel. Solar is a technology that must be advocated and supported. Communities need training and support to acquire the technology so that they will be able to become self sufficient in the future.

Donations are needed to promote and support this technology in Haiti. Thank you for helping us to help them.

Yes, I have noticed. I can only look to the last day prophecies in the Word to understand them. I believe that the climate change may be evidence of a great climatic transition tht will usher in more and more "last day" events as described
in Mark 13:5-12.

Thanks for your support.

Hello! Good to hear from you again. It's been a long time. Yes, I'm still working in Haiti. Unfortunately, I am not able to accept materials items because of the expense of shipping them, etc. I still have tents and a solar water filter stuck in customs since April.

I can only accept cash which allows us to purchase things in Haiti, thus eliminating the custom charges. We just received some equipment in Haiti that was sent by via International Priority on June 22 2010!

There are some larger groups who are able to send items via containers. You might want to research online to see if you can identify one. I appreciate you remembering Haiti. i SPOKE WITH sIS. fAYE NOT TOO LONG AGO. SHE GAVE ME A WONDERFUL CONTACT FOR HAITI - someone who can help with USAID proposals, etc.

Got to go, but please keep up with me. I have a lot of material that needs to go up on the web. My husband suffered a near fatal stroke in July, and I have been his caretaker since July 10. He's progressing well, however. I am stressed to the max....but also blessed to the max. (smile). Take Care

Dr Fisher, I have seen your sewing project and am so impressed as I am trying to do that through a Methodist Mission, Lebanon, New Hampshire USA.

We are coming in Sept to start teaching persons who want to learn to sew quilts.

I would like to be in touch with you and maybe you could help us to buy sewing machines for them to learn to use.

I am so impressed with your work and can only hope to do the same in a small way.

How would I be able to be certified by the government I am a Home Economics, have my own Sewing Camp for 18 years teaching 8 year old and older how to sew, and am a very experienced teacher and sewer.

Thank you for all of your help, I hope to hear from you soon. Janet Daniels, in stitches

I would like to get involved with the relief effort in a more direct way such as housing for families or children who will be brought to the U.S.

Thank you.

Dr. Fisher,

This is followup to the information that you shared on WPFW today. Thank you and many of us would like to support and be involved in your longterm effort to help Haiti. I've just visited your amazing website and I'm most fascinated by your solar oven.

Please provide info on the March trip to Haiti.
